Basketball Recap: Frostproof Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ridgeview Global Studies Academy

Frostproof posted their biggest win since January 22nd on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers with a sharp 65-44 victory. The Bulldogs' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Frostproof was led to victory by Mekhi Guillaume and Tycen Hendrix. Guillaume went 9 of 13 on his way to 21 points and four steals, while Hendrix went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Guillaume is now averaging an impressive 15.6 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of T J Cobb, who posted eight points and three steals.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Travis Babers, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Bryan Lopez-Vergel, who put up seven points and eight rebounds.

Frostproof now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ridgeview Global Studies Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Tenoroc the next time they take the court. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will head out to face Tenoroc at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, while Frostproof will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
