Baseball Recap: Maple Mountain Golden Eagles vs. Brighton Bengals

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Maple Mountain had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Brighton Bengals by a score of 7-4. Winning may never get old, but Maple Mountain sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Cayden Giles looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on AJ Thomas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Colby Warren, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

On Brighton's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Scott, who went 3-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, and two RBI.

Maple Mountain's win bumped their record up to 28-4. As for Brighton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-5.
