Langley proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 14) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the McLean Highlanders 3-1. The victory was nothing new for the Saxons as they're now sitting on four straight.
Norah Jacques spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mads Fiorenini was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI. Madison Radde also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Langley's record now sits at 14-5. As for McLean, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Coming up, Langley will take on Wakefield at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Saxons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season. As for McLean, they will host Herndon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
