Baseball Recap: Pulaski Comes Up Short

Pulaski dropped down to 11-8 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the De Pere Redbirds, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redbirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in April.

As for De Pere, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For De Pere's part, Ryland Nowak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Aiden Schilling was excellent, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Fisher Anderson, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pulaski is set to challenge their familiar foe Manitowoc Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Red Raiders 3.9, the Ships 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, De Pere will square off against rival Green Bay Preble at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
