Baseball Recap: Argenta-Oreana Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Warrensburg-Latham, Argenta-Oreana was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Blue Ridge Knights get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Ashton Sample made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sample was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Markham, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Kharsen West was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Argenta-Oreana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .700. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Argenta-Oreana's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Blue Ridge, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Argenta-Oreana will face off against St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blue Ridge, they will challenge Midland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
