Pace Academy comes up short despite Lawson Monroe's dominant performance

Recap: Pace Academy Knights vs. Woodland Wolfpack

It was a good run, but the Pace Academy Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 61-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodland. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pace Academy in their matchups with Woodland: they've now lost four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Pace Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lawson Monroe. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 32 points and 16 rebounds. Those 32 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ryan Wrigley, who scored 14 points.

Pace Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Woodland, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Pace Academy will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lovett at 5:30 p.m. Lovett is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Woodland, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. Zion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
