Football Preview: Shelton Gaels vs. Cheshire Rams        
        
		
             The Shelton Gaels will welcome the Cheshire Rams  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Cheshire took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Shelton, who comes in off a win.
 Shelton is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They breezed by Branford to the tune of  49-14 on Friday. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Gaels as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 Shelton relied on the efforts of   Cole St.Pierre, who gained 148 total yards and three touchdowns, and   Ryan Kinik, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Those 81  rushing yards gave  Kinik a new career-high.  Evan Bouteiller made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
 Shelton was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 257  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.
 Shelton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Michael Spadaccino and  Bouteiller.
 Meanwhile, Cheshire came up short against Notre Dame on Friday and fell  13-3. The  matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring  match so far this season.
 Shelton's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Cheshire, their loss was  their third straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 3-4.
