Point Arena had won six straight games and Fernando Lopez did his part to make it seven on Friday. The Point Arena Pirates simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tomales Braves 86-35 thanks in part to Lopez, who shot 6-for-11 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds. His evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points.
The team also got some help courtesy of Jael Orsini, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%).
Despite the defeat, Tomales saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Wyatt Cornett posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Flores, who scored nine points.
