Point Pleasant Beach barely beat Toms River North the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Garnet Gulls put the hurt on the Mariners with a sharp 12-2 win on Saturday. Considering the Garnet Gulls have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Point Pleasant Beach and bumps their season record up to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Toms River North, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Point Pleasant Beach will venture away from home to square off against Wall Township at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Toms River North, they will head out to face off against Jackson Memorial at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
