Softball Game Preview: Anniston Bulldogs vs. Handley Tigers

The Anniston Bulldogs will take on the Handley Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Anniston will be strutting in after a win while Handley will be coming in after a defeat.

Anniston took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against Talladega, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Anniston won by a run and slipped past Talladega 5-4.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Handley took on Woodland on Tuesday. Handley fell just short of Woodland by a score of 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brayden Watkins was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynnley Lane, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Anniston back to even at 1-1. As for Handley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Anniston might still be hurting after the 16-0 loss they got from Handley in their previous matchup back in April of 2018. Can Anniston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
