Basketball Recap: Westbrook Comes Up Short

Westbrook saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell to the Crane Cranes 50-46. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Westbrook still got an impressive performance from Jaxson Browne, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 16 boards. That was a full 37% of Westbrook's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Browne, who put up nine points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, Westbrook smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Westbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Crane, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westbrook will host Aspermont at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crane, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lamesa at 7:30 p.m. Crane is facing Lamesa at the right time seeing as Lamesa is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
