Licking Valley piles up the points against Lakewood

The Licking Valley Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 67-39 victory over Lakewood. With that victory, Licking Valley brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.

Licking Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chase Vermilion out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Owen Hottinger, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.

Licking Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lakewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Licking Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fairfield Union at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Fairfield Union presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Licking Valley in Ohio (Fairfield Union is ranked 119th, while Licking Valley is ranked 293rd). As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to face off against Philo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
