Softball Recap: Liberty Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

Liberty put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Asotin Panthers. Considering the Lancers have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jordyn Jeske was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haylee Mitzimberg, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lillie Unruh was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Liberty's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Asotin, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Liberty will challenge Colfax at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Asotin, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th.
