Soccer Recap: Garinger's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

Garinger lost against Myers Park back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, Garinger can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Myers Park are ranked first).

Garinger's goal came courtesy of Danny Escobar, who's now up to three this season.

Garinger moved to 11-6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Myers Park, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Garinger will head out on the road to square off against Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garinger will be up against Butler's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.53 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Myers Park, they will host Hopewell at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
