Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Comes Up Short

Trinity Christian came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 48-28 to Christ Chapel Academy. The game marked the Gryphons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Christ Chapel Academy found their leader in freshman Mateus Fernando, who posted 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fernando has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Richaun Martin, who earned eight points.

Trinity Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Christ Chapel Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Christ Chapel Academy beat Trinity Christian by a score of 48-28 later that day.
