Basketball Recap: Ocean Lakes Takes a Loss

Ocean Lakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Landstown Eagles, falling 88-26. The Dolphins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Leading Landstown to victory were Rashad Shaw and Damien Robinson. Shaw made all 10 shots he took to post 21 points in addition to six assists and five steals, while Robinson went 8 for 14 on his way to 21 points and five steals. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Johnson, who posted eight points along with five assists and three steals.

Ocean Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Landstown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocean Lakes won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Great Bridge at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Ocean Lakes is facing Great Bridge at the right time seeing as Great Bridge is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Landstown, they will head out to challenge Kellam at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
