Volleyball Recap: Wayland Comes Up Short

After flying high against Bedford on Monday, Wayland came back down to earth. Wayland took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wakefield Memorial on Tuesday. While Wayland didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Wakefield Memorial 25-18 in the first set.

Wayland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-11, 27-25.

Wayland has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Wakefield Memorial, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Wayland will venture away from home to take on Concord-Carlisle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wakefield Memorial, they will welcome Winchester at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
