Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Joseph Academy walked away with it. Their defense stepped up to hand the St. Johns Country Day Spartans an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Flashes have won 13 matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the fifth in a row for St. Joseph Academy, bringing their record for this year to 17-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those five contests. As for St. Johns Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Coming up, St. Joseph Academy will welcome Oak Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Hall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.2 goals per game this season. St. Johns Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
