Somersworth and Newport are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Toppers will venture away from home to square off against the Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Somersworth has given up an average of 25.6 points per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Somersworth came up short against Gilford on Saturday, falling 47-26. The Toppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Newport entered their tilt with Kearsarge on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 21-14 win over the Cougars. 21 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Newport's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Somersworth, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Somersworth couldn't quite finish off Newport in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 16-14. Can the Toppers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
