Who's up and who's down
The power rankings have experienced a modest tune-up after last week's playoff battles. The action included a dizzyingly high 118-point combined score from Pine View and Logan.
Welcome
The Kearns offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It narrowly escaped with a win as it sidled past Northridge 40 - 37. 40 is shaping up to be Kearns's lucky number as the team posted the same point total in its victory over Riverton the game before. Thanks to its success, Kearns cracked into the power rankings and now occupies the 25th spot.
Can't Touch This
Pine View's 68 - 50 win over Logan last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Dallin Brown. Brown earned five touchdowns and 211 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Brown among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Pleasant Grove (6th in the power rankings) and East (9th). Pleasant Grove got a somewhat close 27 - 21 victory over East. Pleasant Grove saw its record improve to 7-4 and its power rank jump four places as a result.
