Softball Recap: Clovis East's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clovis East can now relate to. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buchanan Bears on Tuesday. The Timberwolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 4-0.

Chloe Solis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Clovis East saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Destiny Baltierra, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Clovis East moved to 17-8-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Buchanan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-9.

Clovis East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Buchanan, they will square off against Central East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 3.1, the Bengals 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
