Basketball Recap: Chapmanville Regional Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Chapmanville Regional can now relate to. They were beaten by the Nitro Wildcats 54-26 on Thursday. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Nitro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalie Smith, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 14 points along with seven boards and three steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 60% in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mika Adams, who went 5-for-10 en route to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Chapmanville Regional has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. The win (which was Nitro's third in a row) raised their record to 19-4.

As of now, neither Chapmanville Regional nor Nitro have any future games scheduled.
