Softball Recap: Calabasas Comes Up Short

Calabasas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They fell 14-9 to the Foothill Tech Dragons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-8 last Tuesday.

Ella Polvy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Camryn Somoza, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Calabasas' loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Foothill Tech, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calabasas will host Thousand Oaks at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Coyotes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Foothill Tech, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Nordhoff at 4:00 p.m.
