Basketball Game Preview: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Central Cambria Red Devils

The Forest Hills Rangers will take on the Central Cambria Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Forest Hills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

On Tuesday, Forest Hills didn't have too much trouble with McKeesport as they won 78-60. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rangers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Tigers are ranked 139th).

Meanwhile, Central Cambria came up short against Bishop Carroll back in December of 2025 and fell 74-65. While the Red Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 20-12 in the first quarter.

Forest Hills will need to focus on slowing down JD Brouse, one of several Central Cambria players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double with 29 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Brouse's third in a row with at least 18 points. Brennon McCloskey was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

Forest Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points over those games. As for Central Cambria, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Forest Hills got the 'W' when the teams last played back in February of 2025 against Central Cambria by a conclusive 67-42 score. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
