Basketball Recap: Newark Tech Comes Up Short

Newark Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 52-37 fall against the American History Eagles. The Terries were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 42-35.

It was another big night for Erica Lawson, who posted 22 points and eight steals for American History. Lawson is becoming a predictor of American History's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 10-3 (and 3-7 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Shamiyah Mubarak, who had eight points and seven assists.

Newark Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for American History, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

Looking ahead, Newark Tech will square off against Orange at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
