Mariyah Robinson and Sheliyah Battle secure win for Simeon

Recap: Simeon Wolverines vs. Clark Eagles

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westinghouse, the Simeon Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Monday. They came out on top against Clark by a score of 47-36. That's another feather in the cap for Simeon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Simeon was led to victory by Mariyah Robinson and Sheliyah Battle. Robinson scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, while Battle scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Battle has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Koriel Webster, who scored five points.

Simeon pushed their record up to 10-10 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Clark, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.

Simeon will head out on the road to square off against Mother McAuley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mother McAuley presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Simeon in Illinois (Mother McAuley is ranked ninth, while Simeon is ranked 317th). Clark does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
