Softball Recap: Riverside Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Riverside dropped their record down to 13-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell 7-2 to the Lightridge Bolts. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ashley Bui made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.

As for Lightridge, the win keeps they at an undefeated 19-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.5 runs this season.

On Lightridge's side, Peyton Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits. Robinson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maya Thaivalappil, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Riverside beat Lightridge by a score of 2-1 on Friday.
