Softball Recap: Deming Comes Up Short

Deming fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Santa Teresa on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Desert Warriors by a score of 12-11. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Desert Warriors earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Cristal Enriquez stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylin Holguin, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Deming's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Santa Teresa, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Deming beat Santa Teresa by a score of 12-6 later that day.
