Softball Recap: Christian Brothers Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Christian Brothers had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the Rio Americano Raiders get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-9 back in March.

Annika DeWaal looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Taylor Jernigan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Machenzie Aurich, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Christian Brothers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Christian Brothers' victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Rio Americano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.

Christian Brothers will square off against Vista del Lago at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Rio Americano does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
