Softball Game Preview: Tunstall Trojans vs. Dan River Wildcats

The Tunstall Trojans will head out to square off against the Dan River Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Tunstall is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Tunstall had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Gretna on Tuesday. Tunstall put the hurt on Gretna with a sharp 11-2 victory. Considering the Trojans have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Dan River's offense. They fell 3-0 to Patrick County on Wednesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tunstall pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Dan River, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Tunstall took their win against Dan River when the teams last played on Friday by a conclusive 12-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tunstall since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
