Baseball Recap: Brewer Takes a Loss

Brewer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Skowhegan River Hawks. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Witches' highest-scoring contest to date.

Brewer's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Skowhegan, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Looking ahead, Brewer will challenge Bangor at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Witches' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Skowhegan, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Nokomis at 4:00 p.m. on May 13.
