Basketball Game Preview: Severn Run vs. Severna Park Falcons

Severn Run will square off against the Severna Park Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Severn Run is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against South River, falling 89-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (57), Severn Run still had to take the loss.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayden Gonzalez, who posted 13 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ricco Gough, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 11 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Severn Run smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Severna Park was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 64-63 to Old Mill. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Severna Park's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Severn Run, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
