Basketball Recap: Cushing's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

After a string of five wins, Cushing's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a 71-38 loss at the hands of the Douglass Indians. While losing is never fun, the Bearkats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 998th, while the Indians are ranked 415th).

Cushing's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-13. As for Douglass, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

Cushing will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Union Grove at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for Douglass, they will face off against Overton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
