Preview: Virginia vs. Battle
Virginia will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Battle at 7:00 PM. Virginia have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Virginia had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. They took their game against Tazewell last Thursday 37-30.
Meanwhile, Battle couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 8-34 punch to the gut against Abingdon last week. Battle were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-28.
Virginia's win lifted them to 1-0 while Battle's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Virginia can add another positive mark to their record or if Battle can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Virginia's step.
