Baseball Preview: Oldenburg Academy Twisters vs. Union County Patriots        
        
		
            Oldenburg Academy hasn't had much luck against Union County recently, but that could start to change  on Monday. The Twisters will look to defend their home field  against the Patriots  at 5:30  p.m. Oldenburg Academy will be strutting in after a  win while Union County will be coming in after a  defeat.
On Saturday, Oldenburg Academy made easy work of Switzerland County  and carried off  a  12-3 victory. Considering the Twisters have won five matches by more than five  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Zach Hoff was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He  pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Oldenburg Academy is undefeated when  Hoff allows one or  fewer  earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Hoff was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in April.

 In other batting news,  Connor Holder was  incredible,  going 3-for-5 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Jacob Stenger, who  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Oldenburg Academy  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Switzerland County only posted  an  OBP of  .276.
 Meanwhile, Union County came up short against Lawrenceburg on Saturday and fell  8-3. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.
 Oldenburg Academy pushed their record up to 8-7 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Union County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
