Basketball Game Preview: High Point Central Bison vs. T.W. Andrews Red Raiders

High Point Central hasn't had much luck against T.W. Andrews recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The High Point Central Bison are taking a road trip to square off against the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders at 7:15 p.m.

High Point Central is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 36th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They were outmatched by Rockingham County and fell 56-10. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while the Cougars are ranked 141st).

Meanwhile, T.W. Andrews put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 77-3 win over Morehead. The Red Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 31 points or more this season.

High Point Central better keep an eye on Janiya Milligan. She was instrumental in T.W. Andrews' win, putting up 19 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Milligan a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Journie Barr, who posted 16 points and three steals.

T.W. Andrews pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.5 points per game. As for High Point Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

High Point Central was dealt a bruising 66-9 loss at the hands of T.W. Andrews in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of T.W.
