Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Lions vs. Martinsville Bluestreaks

The Marshall Lions will head out to take on the Martinsville Bluestreaks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Marshall lost to Casey-Westfield at home by a 59-45 margin.

Meanwhile, Martinsville ended up a good deal behind Brownstown/St. Elmo on Tuesday and lost 52-38. The loss continues a trend for the Bluestreaks in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Marshall's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Martinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Marshall beat Martinsville 49-37 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marshall since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
