The Bluffton Tigers will take on the Adams Central Flying Jets in a holiday battle at at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Bluffton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.
Bluffton is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Southwood: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Bluffton blew Southwood out of the water with a 69-31 final score. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluffton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khloe Dick, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 16 points and three steals. Isabella Stout was another key player, going 7 of 17 on her way to 16 points along with five boards and three steals.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Adams Central). They enjoyed a cozy 55-39 win over South Adams on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Flying Jets as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Bluffton better keep an eye on Ava Stafford. She was instrumental in Adams Central's win, going 7 of 13 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Stafford a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Fisher, who posted 13 points along with six steals and five boards.
Adams Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Bluffton pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.8 points. As for Adams Central, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-9.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bluffton hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 72.5 points per game. It's a different story for Adams Central, though, as they've been averaging only 38.5 points. The only thing between Bluffton and another offensive beatdown is Adams Central. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Bluffton beat Adams Central 67-54 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bluffton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
