Softball Recap: Cape Hatteras Comes Up Short

Cape Hatteras was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 17-2 to the Bear Grass Charter Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hurricanes of the 20-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Cape Hatteras saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Ross, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Ross hit this season.

Cape Hatteras' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Bear Grass Charter, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Looking ahead, Bear Grass Charter will welcome Northside - Pinetown at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cape Hatteras will be paying especially close attention to the Bears' matchup: after the Bears faces off against the Panthers, they'll take on Cape Hatteras again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
