Baseball Recap: Chesnee Comes Up Short

If Chesnee was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Central on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clinton Red Devils on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Chesnee's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Clinton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Chesnee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clinton, they will host Batesburg-Leesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Red Devils have won six straight at home, while the Panthers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
