Basketball Recap: Phillips Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Phillips had won three straight home games and Nila Wills did her part to make it four on Saturday. The Phillips Wildcats walked away with a 49-41 victory over the Crane Medical Cougars thanks in part to Wills, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 67% in the last five games she's played.

Akyla Williams was another key player, putting up six points along with five rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Despite the loss, Crane Medical had strong showings from Tiana Simmons, who posted 14 points, and Serenity James, who earned 12 points.

Phillips has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Crane Medical, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-5.

Phillips has already played their next game, a 69-52 loss against Kenwood on the 12th. Crane Medical does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
