Red Lion has gone a perfect 8-0 against William Penn recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. Red Lion will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against William Penn at 4:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Red Lion barely beat Spring Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Red Lion never let Spring Grove get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Friday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Connor Lawrence made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Steven Bowman and Jack Slack did most of the damage at the plate: Bowman scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Slack went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Slack a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Pamepinto, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Red Lion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Grove only posted an OBP of .190.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when William Penn challenged Central York on Friday. William Penn came up short against Central York, falling 20-10. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost nine in a row.
Angel Vargas and Roosevert Ramos did some serious damage despite the final result: Vargas scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Ramos went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Melky Diaz was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
William Penn now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Red Lion, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
