Football Game Preview: St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays vs. Covenant Christian Academy Lions

The St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays will face off against the Covenant Christian Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Edmund is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Lincoln Prep to the tune of 62-18. Given the Fighting Blue Jays' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Panthers are ranked 249th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Covenant Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup last Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 49-6 victory over the Eagles.

Covenant Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Braydon Percle, who rushed for 205 yards and four TDs on only 14 carries. Those 205 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Percle. Peyton Clement was another key player, throwing for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

St. Edmund's record is now 9-2. As for Covenant Christian Academy, their record now sits at 8-2.
