Basketball Game Preview: Dunn Earwigs vs. Santa Clara Saints

The Dunn Earwigs are taking a road trip to take on the Santa Clara Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Dunn is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Dunn was beaten by Thacher 79-48.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against St. Bonaventure, falling 92-65. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1064th, while the Seraphs are ranked 169th).

Santa Clara has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which is still a better percentage than their 5-21 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Dunn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.

Dunn strolled past Santa Clara in their previous meeting last Friday by a score of 73-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dunn since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
