Basketball Recap: Lewis County Comes Up Short

Lewis County lost against Summertown back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lewis County Panthers took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Summertown Eagles.

Summertown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kurt Burleson, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. What's more, Burleson also posted four assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andrew Mabry, who earned 12 points.

Lewis County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Summertown, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Lewis County has already played their next contest (against Culleoka), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Summertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
