Basketball Recap: Blackville-Hilda Takes a Loss

Blackville-Hilda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 43-17 to the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans. The game marked the Fighting Hawks' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Ny'Asia Young was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 17 boards for Ridge Spring-Monetta. Young is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Ruby Powell was another key player, putting up two points along with 14 rebounds and five steals.

Blackville-Hilda now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Blackville-Hilda will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-43 win against Williston-Elko on the 28th.
