Deer Park proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 17) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Clear Lake Falcons 7-5. The win was nothing new for the Deer as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Deer Park pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.83 runs across that stretch. As for Clear Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

Deer Park and Clear Lake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Deer Park (ranked 23rd) will meet Brazoswood (ranked 91st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
