Basketball Game Preview: Edgemont Moguls vs. Oelrichs Tigers

The Edgemont Moguls and the Oelrichs Tigers will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Edgemont is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They were outmatched by Upton and fell 59-29. While losing is never fun, the Moguls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 149th in South Dakota, while the Bobcats are ranked fourth in Wyoming).

Meanwhile, after soaring to 81 points the game before, Oelrichs was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They were dealt a 77-19 defeat at the hands of Hot Springs. The Tigers have struggled against the Bison recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Edgemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Oelrichs, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Edgemont and Oelrichs were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but Edgemont came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can Edgemont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
