Maiden and Newton-Conover are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2023, but not for long. The Blue Devils will face off against the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Maiden will be strutting in after a victory while Newton-Conover will be coming in after a defeat.

Meanwhile, Newton-Conover came up short against Bandys on Wednesday and fell 63-56. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while the Trojans are ranked 164th).

Maiden's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Newton-Conover, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Maiden couldn't quite get it done against Newton-Conover in their previous matchup back in January as they fell 68-57. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
