Basketball Game Preview: Independent Athletic Ministries Ravens vs. Rocket City Falcons

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Independent Athletic Ministries Ravens take on Rocket City Falcons at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Rocket City will need to watch out since Independent Athletic Ministries has now posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

Independent Athletic Ministries took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Heritage Home Scholars 74-42. The Ravens haven't had any issues with the Lady Eagles/Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Rocket City was not able to break out of their rough patch back in February as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 59-49 to Upper Cumberland.

Independent Athletic Ministries will need to focus on slowing down JJ Minnon, one of several Rocket City players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5-for-11 to rack up 11 points and six boards. That's the most points Minnon has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Schlapman, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Rocket City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Independent Athletic Ministries' win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Rocket City, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-20.
